Keneilwe she is visual artist based in Pretoria. She studied at Tshwane University of Technology and acquired a National Diploma in Fine Art. She is the recent award winner of the Reinhold Cassirer Award and have been in residence at the Bag Factory Artists’ Studios. Her work has been exhibited in galleries in Pretoria, Johannesburg and Grahamstown, including Trent Gallery, SoMa Artspace and In Toto. She has curated several shows in Pretoria, Johannesburg and Maputo. She is part of a network of artists, researchers, writers and gardeners called SLOW (Social Life of Waste) art, and part of a collective of artist in Pretoria called Capital Arts Revolution.
She explores patterns of order and chaos in organic and inorganic matter. "As humans, we are wired to try to create order out of the chaos that is Existence. We are constantly trying to simplify the complex nature of things; to expose an underlying logic with which to makes sense of our existence" says Keneilwe, Through her work, She tries to capture the simultaneous simplicity and complexity of existence. She is constantly trying to strike a balance between these two binaries.
